Eye Shape Guide

When we think about the type of eyes that we have, we often only consider color. However, you may be surprised at how our eyes can differ in shape from other people. If you are looking to buy false eyelashes, it is essential for you to find out which eye shape you have. Just like how a shirt looks different on a particular body type, different eyelash styles look best on certain eye shapes. Refer to the following eye shape guide to understand better.

Monolid Eyes

If you do not have a crease which is an indentation found at the top part of your eyelids, then your eye shape is monolid. For those with monolid eyes, choose a set of lashes with a stronger curl. They offer a natural look with a soft volume that is perfect for daily wear or for a night out.

Almond Eyes

Look straight ahead into the mirror. If you are not able to see the whites of your eyes right below the iris, which is the colored part of your eyes, then your eye shape is almond. For those with almond eyes, apply short to medium-length lashes. Choose lashes that are fluffy and flared to give you that textured look that is natural-looking and long-lasting.

Round Eyes

If you look straight ahead in the mirror and you are able to see the whites of your eyes right below the iris which is the colored part of your eyes, then your eye shape is round. For those with round eyes, we recommend applying curly lashes. They will help enhance and lift the curve of your top eyelid. Avoid voluminous or heavy leashes that can make your eyes appear flatter and smaller.

Hooded Eyes

When you open your eyes and the crease on your eyelid is not visible, then you have hooded eyes. For this eye shape, you will look great in long lashes that have tapered ends. This type of lashes will give your eyes the illusion of added depth. Lashes with length and curl at the edges will also create the illusion of bigger eyes.

Upturned Eyes

Place a straight line diagonally towards the middle of your eyes and see whether the external corners by your temples are below or above the line, or positioned right on the line itself? If the external corners are above the straight line, then your eye shape is upturned. For those with upturned eyes, we recommend lashes with full length and volume. They will create an intense and exaggerated effect that is sure to wow.

Downturned Eyes

Again, place a straight line diagonally towards the middle of your eyes and see whether the external corners by your temples are below or above the line, or positioned right on the line itself? If the external corners fall below the line, then you have downturned eyes. For those with downturned eyes, you can further enhance your captivating look by wearing wispy lashes. They look more natural while still lifting the outer corners of your eyes.
